Health district postpones public hearing
LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada Health District announced today that it will not at this time present proposed regulations to the Southern Nevada District Board of Health relating to enforcement of the Nevada Clean Indoor Air Act and elimination of exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke in food establishments. The proposed regulations were scheduled to be presented at the District Board of Health meeting on March 22, 2007.
During public workshops held earlier in March 2007, health district staff received valuable input on the proposed enforcement process and draft regulations. Based upon this input, health district staff is contemplating changes to the original drafts and will be soliciting additional input from the public and affected business owners. A new schedule for public workshops will be posted once proposed changes have been formulated.
