Public Health Hero awards are presented each year as a prelude to National Public Health Week (April 3 – 9, 2006) to honor individuals and organizations whose contributions help to promote public health in our community.

Nevadans for Antibiotic Awareness (NAA)
Nevadans for Antibiotic Awareness is a statewide task force of over 50 state and local public and private agencies committed to reducing the spread of antibiotic resistance. Since 2000, the non-profit organization has educated the medical community and general public about decreasing inappropriate antibiotic use and improving infection control practices.

The Community Agency Response Team (CMART)
The Community Multi-Agency Response Team is a unique partnership of local and state governmental agencies that work together to identify dilapidated properties within unincorporated Clark County and bring them into compliance with health and safety regulations.

Joe and Lonnie Noble
After losing a young child to drowning, Joe and Lonnie Noble graciously shared their personal tragedy in an effort to reduce the incidence of drowning in the community. The Nobles donated their time to several media campaigns designed to educate parents and protect young children.
